"Has he never pumped his own gas before?" asked conservative media personality Steven Crowder.

Former Vice President Mike Pence this week released a campaign ad featuring the Republican pumping gas while addressing voter issues. However, an audible beeping throughout the video appears to indicate he was not in fact pumping gas while on camera.

The one-minute clip shows Pence leaving a red pickup truck and beginning fueling while he blasts the Biden administration's energy record. The former vice president visibly does not address the kiosk and merely inserts the nozzle into the fuel pipe.

The repeated beeping sound throughout the ad appears to be the kiosk prompting him to select his fuel grade, a prerequisite step to filling up the tank.

The ad prompted considerable ridicule online, with detractors jesting as to his apparent ignorance of the proper means of completing the mundane task.

"Has he never pumped his own gas before?" asked conservative media personality Steven Crowder.

"Has Mike Pence figured out how to turn on a gas pump yet?" prominent pro-Trump account Catturd asked after the ad dropped.

"Mike Pence shows he doesn't know how to pump gas in his new commercial... He never selects a grade and the pump keeps beeping... It's about as cringe as you'd imagine," asked commentator Tim Young.

"Pence has no clue how to pump gas. Who thought this was a good idea?" the End Wokeness account tweeted.
