Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was livid on Thursday after Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., referred to the recent shooting of two members of the National Guard in Washington, D.C., as an "unfortunate accident."

"You think that was an unfortunate accident?! It was a terrorist attack. They shot our National Guardsman in the head," Noem retorted.

Noem's retort came during her testimony before the House Homeland Security Committee.

Thompson was referring to the recent shooting of two members of the National Guard by an Afghan national. The victims were on deployment as part of President Donald Trump's crackdown on crime and illegal immigration in the city.
