Former President Barack Obama on Monday announced that he would host a new literary podcast in which he would discuss the books that helped to shape his worldview.

"At a time when fewer people are able to sit down with a book, it’s important to remember the joy and power that can come from reading. And some books don’t just tell a story – they change the way we see the world," he posted on X.

Among the major authors he cited were James Baldwin, Toni Morrison, Cormac McCarthy, Marilynne Robinson, Penn Warren, and John le Carré.

The "A Great Book with Barack Obama" podcast will debut on Audible on Sept. 24.
