The U.S. Mint in Philadelphia will make the final penny on Wednesday, The Hill reported.

President Donald Trump ordered the cessation of penny production in February as the costs of production outweighed the value of the coin. The penny currently costs an estimated 3.69 cents.

The coin bears the face of President Abraham Lincoln and will remain valid currently despite the mint halting production.
