Badge Bias? 60% of likely U.S. voters believe FBI helped cover up Biden family crimes, poll finds
The FBI has drawn a lot of pushback from many people for being politically biased and not disclosing information that the American people have a right to see.
Trust in America's premier law enforcement is plummeting amid fears the FBI has become politically biased, new polling finds.
A poll published Wednesday by Rasmussen Reports found that 60% of likely U.S. voters believe that the FBI was involved in covering up the Biden family's alleged crimes. The survey found 48% of respondents thought a cover-up was "very likely" compared to 33% who didn't believe an FBI cover-up was likely.
The poll also found the FBI's favorability rating has fallen underwater for the first time. Only 44% of like voters said they had a favorable views of the bureau, down from 60% in 2018. Independents also held a harsh view with only 36% viewing the bureau in a favorable light.
"It's a big problem," said retired U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, a former GOP presidential candidate. "We need to have established law and order that people understand what the laws are, and that there will be consequences for failure to obey the law. And that has been eroded completely, and that that by design unravels the society
"So then when you lose that level of confidence, it takes a long time to build it back up again. But we have two, that is our challenge. We have to have a complete overhaul of the current DOJ and FBI and the CIA, quite frankly, and we have to restore confidence in the American government," she told the John Solomon Reports podcast.
The survey polled 999 likely U.S. voters and was conducted between June 4 and June 6 with a margin of sampling error of +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. You can see the survey question wording here.

According to a recent report, the FBI was given notice three years ago of allegations concerning Joe Biden’s involvement in a bribery scheme in Ukraine involving $5 million.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) made a bombshell revelation earlier this week in an interview with Just the News, just a day after reviewing an FBI FD-1023 form that memorialized the informant’s allegations, and two days before he plans to hold a vote in Congress to hold FBI Director Christopher Wray in contempt for failing to provide a copy to his committee as demanded by a subpoena.
Comer announced Wednesday that he introduced a resolution to hold Wray in contempt of Congress.
"Americans have lost trust in the FBI’s ability to enforce the law impartially and demand accountability," Comer wrote on Twitter. @GOPoversight must follow the facts and ensure the government is held accountable. I just introduced the Resolution to hold FBI Director Wray in contempt of Congress."
