Majority of voters approve of Biden's latest restrictions on immigration: Poll
The nationwide poll, which saw Biden lead former President Donald Trump in a match-up for the first time since October, found that 57% of respondents said they support the president's latest actions, while 38% said they do not approve.
More than half of registered voters on Thursday said they approve of President Joe Biden's sweeping immigration policies, according to a new Fox News poll.
The nationwide poll, which saw Biden lead former President Donald Trump in a match-up for the first time since October, found that 57% of respondents said they support the president's latest actions, while 38% said they do not approve.
When asked if they support the policies without the president's name attached to it, nearly seven in 10 voters (66%) said they approve the orders and 29% said they disapprove.
The poll also found that Republicans, white voters, men, and older Americans were more likely to support the policies when they did not associate it with Biden. But minorities, suburban women, and Democrats more highly favored it when Biden was mentioned. For younger voters, it did not matter if Biden was mentioned or not.
The executive action also gave Biden a boost in his handling of the border crisis, with 35% of respondents approving his handling of the border instead of the 30% seen in March. But he still has a high disapproval rating on immigration of 63%.
The survey, which was conducted from June 14-17, polled a total of 1,095 registered voters nationwide and had a margin of error of plus and minus three percentage points.
