A Napolitan News Service survey found that 82% of voters support photo ID requirements at the ballot, which includes 94% of Republicans and 70% of Democrats.

The poll also found that 79% of voters believe mail-in ballots should be received by the day of the election. A majority of voters, 92%, also want people who have died or moved to be removed from registration lists, the poll found, and 79% think all mail-in ballots must be received by election day.

Of these four requirements, according to the poll, 55% of voters say that requiring a photo ID would do the most to restore trust in elections.

This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, March 25-26, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
