Trump-DeSantis ticket tops Biden-Harris by 8 points in new poll
According to the poll, Trump and DeSantis would do a better job at handling the border crisis than Biden and Harris.
A majority of likely U.S. voters prefer a Trump-DeSantis ticket over a Biden-Harris one in a hypothetical 2024 presidential general election race, according to a recently released poll.
The Rasmussen Reports-Political Media poll found respondents preferred the potential GOP ticket over the likely Democrat ticket 51%-to-43%.
"This poll gives great insights into the 2024 election," said Larry Ward, chairman and founder of the Constitutional Rights PAC, according to the website Post Millennial. "Trump does well head-to-head against Biden. But adding DeSantis to the ticket is powerful."
The border crisis is a major issue with a majority of voters, the poll found.
Roughly 52% of Hispanic voters said former President Trump and Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is considering a 2024 presidential bid, would handle the crisis better than President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Trump picking DeSantis as his running mate would be a turn of events, considering the front-running ex-president's harsh attacks on the governor, in an apparent attempt to dissuade DeSantis from running.
The poll was conducted from April 27 to May 2 among 1,050 likely voters with a margin of error of three percentage points.
