New Trafalgar poll of New York race shows Zeldin inching ahead of Hochul a week before election
"Statistical tie" has Zeldin with "razor thin" lead.
New York Republican gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin is holding a "razor thin" lead over Democratic incumbent Kathy Hochul in a new poll showing the race in a dead heat just a week out from the election.
The new Trafalgar Group poll shows Zeldin with a narrow lead of less than 1% over Hochul, holding what Trafalgar founder Robert Cahaly on Twitter called "a razor thin lead in a statistical tie."
Most polls throughout the race have shown Hochul with leads ranging from narrow to sizable, though election analyst group FiveThirtyEight shows the governor's lead steadily narrowing overall as the race has drawn closer.
RealClearPolitics currently projects Hochul will hold onto her position there, with the analyst's polling average for the race putting the Democrat at a 4.5+ advantage.
