No top US official receives majority job approval: Poll

Not a single elected or appointed U.S. federal official received a majority approval rating from Americans, with Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts scoring the best with a 48% job approval rating, according to a poll released Thursday.
The leader with the lowest approval rating is Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, with a 27% job approval rating, and second to the Kentucky Senator is President Joe Biden with a 39% approval rating, according to a Gallup poll.
Biden's approval rating is the worst for any president in the modern day who has been seeking reelection at the same point, per the pollster, which will be a struggle for his campaign to overcome in the 2024 election.
Second to Roberts in approval rating is House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries at 46%, followed by Secretary of State Antony Blinken at 45% and Attorney General Merrick Garland at 44%.
This poll of 1,013 U.S. adults was conducted Dec. 1-20, 2023, and it has a 4% margin of error.
