Trump campaign slams polling showing Harris ahead of Trump in three of four sun-belt states
The results were all within the margin of error for each state, which was three percentage points.
The latest polling released on Wednesday night showed Democratic presidential hopeful Kamala Harris narrowly leading former President Donald Trump in three of the four sun-belt states.
The poll, conducted by Fox News, showed Harris leading Trump by one percentage point in Arizona (48% to 47%), two points in Georgia (48% to 46%), and two points in Nevada (48% to 46%).
Harris trails Trump by one percent in North Carolina, with 47% of respondents favoring the vice president, versus 48% still preferring Trump. The number closes a big gap from President Joe Biden, who trailed Trump by seven percent when he dropped out last month.
The results are all within the margin of error for each state, which was three percentage points.
Trump's campaign slammed the results in a statement shared with Just The News.
"It's that time of year again. Fox is releasing atrocious polling," the campaign said. "President Trump continues to outperform polling from past cycles. President Trump is 10 points ahead of where he was in Arizona at this point in 2020, according to Fox. Likewise, he is running 8 points ahead of his 2020 polling in Nevada and 5 points ahead of his 2020 polling in North Carolina."
The campaign also claimed that Trump is faring better in the swing state of Pennsylvania than in previous elections, citing a RealClearPolitics average that showed Trump polling six points ahead of the 2020 election so far, and nine points ahead of 2016.
The Fox News polls were conducted from Aug. 23 through Aug. 26, and polled 4,053 registered voters across the four states.
