The latest time Ohio had a Democratic governor was 2006, but a new poll is showing a strong possibility that it could happen again.

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton, a physician and former state health director, is leading GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, an entrepreneur, by 10 points, according to the poll results.

Ramaswamy, a 2024 GOP presidential candidate, campaigned throughout 2024 for President Donald Trump.

He co-led the Department of Government Efficiency with Elon Musk in Trump's second term before entering the Ohio governor race.

In the poll, Ramaswamy received 43% support from voters compared to Acton's 53%. The poll included responses from 1,343 likely November 2026 voters, from February 10 to February 22 with a margin of error of 2.7%.
