Trump has commanding polling leads in early states of Iowa, South Carolina

Former President Donald Trump holds a significant lead in Iowa and South Carolina over other 2024 Republican presidential candidates, new polls show.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis comes in second to Trump in Iowa with 16% support, while South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott is at 11%.
Trump's support is even higher in South Carolina, where he is polling at 48%. Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley comes in second in her home state at 14%, while DeSantis is at 13% and Scott is at 10%, another Fox Business poll shows.
South Carolina's GOP primary is scheduled for Feb. 24, 2024.
Meanwhile, the race is heating up in Iowa as a PAC supporting DeSantis released a new television ad using an artificial intelligence-generated version of Trump's voice attacking the state's popular governor, Kim Reynolds.
The South Carolina primary poll was conducted by Beacon Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R) from July 15-19 with 808 likely GOP primary voters in the state. It has a 3.5% margin of error.
Beacon and Shaw also conducted the Iowa primary poll from July 15-19 with 806 likely GOP primary voters in the state. It has a 3.5% margin of error.
