Trump sees minor boost, Harris sees dip in favorability in September poll

Former President Donald Trump's favorability rating increased slightly in a poll published on Wednesday, while Vice President Kamala Harris' favorability rating saw a minor decrease.

The Gallup poll found that both candidates have a higher unfavorable rating than favorable overall, but Trump's favorability rating is just seven points lower than the unfavorable rating, while Harris has a 10-point gap.

The survey found that 46% of voters overall have a favorable opinion of Trump, and 44% have a favorable view of Harris. But 47% of respondents viewed Harris favorably in August, while Trump saw a five-point boost.

Both candidates also received strong support within their own parties on Wednesday, but low support from the opposing party. Among independents, Trump polled higher, with 44% of independents having a favorable view of him and 53% having an unfavorable one. Harris' favorability rating among independents is 35%, while 60% have an unfavorable view of her.

The nationwide poll was conducted from Sept. 3 through Sept. 15, and surveyed 1,007 U.S. adults. It has a plus and minus four percentage points margin of error.
