Pro-Palestine demonstrators interrupt Haley event in South Carolina

A group of pro-Palestinian demonstrators on Thursday interrupted a campaign event for former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley in Columbia, South Carolina, to call for a ceasefire in the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict.

Haley, for her part, has been a vocal supporter of Israel for much of her career and spent considerable campaign time advocating for U.S. support to both Israel and Ukraine.

The demonstration saw at least four people enter the venue and shout "Free Palestine!" as they made their way through the room.

Haley, for her part, calmed her own supporters, insisting that the demonstrators had a right to voice their opinion.

"Don't ever get upset about people like that, because my husband and military men and women sacrifice every day for their right to do that," she said, according to The Hill.

The South Carolina Republican primary is scheduled for later this month. Haley, the Palmetto State's former governor, currently trails former President Donald Trump by an average 27.0% in the state, according to RealClearPolitics.
