Vivek Ramaswamy will reportedly run for governor of Ohio, the Washington Post reported, citing "two people familiar with his plans."

He is expected to announce his campaign in the near future, a move that follows him losing out on the Ohio Senate seat to Lt. Gov. Jon Husted.

DeWine has not formally announced Husted as the replacement for Vice President-elect JD Vance, though multiple outlets have reported that he will do so at some point on Friday.

Husted had been thought a contender to replace DeWine, though his ascension to the Senate post would leave Ramaswamy one of the state's most prominent Republicans and position him to dominate the primary contest.
