Wisconsin GOP Rep. Bryan Steil says that young voters want to hear solutions for inflation from candidates running for president.

"I think the young voters want to hear a path forward," Steil said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "I think they want to hear about how we're going to actually get wages increasing above inflation."

"We're thinking about young folks–buying that first home with interest rates as they are, with cost going up–it's becoming out of reach for so many young voters," Steil added.

According to a survey conducted earlier this year from Realtor.com, nearly 80% of people wanting to purchase a home expect to be priced out of the housing market if interest rates and home prices continue to rise.

The survey finds that roughly 50% of those surveyed believe that not being able to afford a house is keeping them from living the American dream. Many are even second-guessing their decision to buy due to the rising prices.

Life and My Finances, a lending firm, reported that states such as Idaho, Nevada, Georgia and Florida saw a major escalation in single-family home prices to nearly three times what they were a decade ago.

Steil emphasized "making sure that young voters have an opportunity that their parents did that their grandparents did," Steil said. "And to do that, we need to get a Republican into office and return to core conservative principles."
