Six dead in rural Mississippi shooting, suspect in custody

Six people are dead following a Friday shooting in Arkabutla, Miss., authorities have confirmed.
A male suspect is in custody, Mississippi Department of Public Safety spokesperson Bailey Martin told the Associated Press.
Situated near the border with Tennessee, the town boasts a population of 285. Authorities have not detailed the incident nor specified the venue.
Coldwater Elementary School in Tate County announced via Facebook that both the elementary school and high school had gone on lockdown but that it had since been lifted and all students were unharmed.
Gov. Tate Reeves, R, has been briefed on the incident, his office confirmed. The shooter's motives remain unspecified as of press time.
