The move follows Spanberger's landslide win in the former battleground state of Virginia.

Gov. Abigail Spanberger, D-Va., on Thursday ordered state agencies to end their partnerships with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Spanberger announced the executive order on Wednesday, saying she wanted to draw a "clear line in the sand" for state law enforcement, The Hill reported.

The move follows Spanberger's landslide win in the former battleground state of Virginia. The influx of Democratic lawmakers to the legislature has further fueled a bevy of left-wing proposals set to radically transform the state.

It also comes as backlash mounts against the Trump administration's immigration efforts, with ICE operations in Minneapolis, Minn., coming into the national spotlight due to stiff resistance from the local population.
