Authorities have identified Ryan Wesley Routh as the suspect in a Sunday afternoon assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, Fox News reported, citing "law enforcement sources."
Outlet correspondent David Spunt relayed the suspect's name and stated that Routh was the person arrested in connection with the incident. Authorities are expected to release a mugshot, along with more details about Routh at a later time.
Spunt further stated that Routh was arrested by the Martin County Sheriff's Department. Authorities have not identified a motive in the incident.
Routh did not reportedly get off a shot at Trump and fled the scene when Secret Service agents spotted him and engaged. Trump, for his part, is unharmed.
The New York Post reported that Routh is 58 and moved to Hawaii around 2018.
