Texas GOP Rep. Ted Cruz on Tuesday evening endorsed former President Donald Trump's 2024 bid to return to the White House and called on Republicans to coalesce around the front runner and focus on beating President Joe Biden.

Trump won the Iowa Caucus on Monday evening, taking more than 51% of the vote and winning nearly every county. His nearest opponent, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, trailed by roughly 30%, handing Trump the largest margin of victory in a competitive Iowa Caucus in history.

"It was a dominating victory for Donald Trump," Cruz said on Fox News's "Hannity."

"I'm a big believer in letting Democracy play out. Well, last night it played out," he went on. "At this point, I believe this race is over. So, I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for President of the United States."

"I look forward to supporting him enthusiastically," he continued. "I think it's time for the Republican Party to unite, for us to come together. We've got to beat Joe Biden."

"We gotta come together and win and with the results last night, the people have spoken. It's time to move onward to victory in November," he concluded.
