The airline industry and manufacturers, like Boeing, have faced intense scrutiny following an unfortunate series of incidents, which have led to multiple lawsuits.
A United Airlines plane flying from San Francisco to Mexico City made an emergency landing in Los Angeles on Friday after a hydraulics issue was reported by the crew.
The plane, an Airbus A320 jetliner, safely landed at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) around 4:30 p.m. local time Friday, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
United Flight 821 was carrying 105 passengers and five crew members. An issue was discovered involving the plane’s hydraulic system, according to United Airlines’ statement to The Hill. There were no injuries, and the passengers traveled on to Mexico City on another plane.
This was the fourth emergency landing of a United Airlines flight this week and will be investigated by the FAA.
The other recent events included a Boeing 737 in Houston that rolled onto the grass when exiting onto the taxiway and a flight to Japan Thursday that lost a tire while taking off from the San Francisco airport. The flight was then diverted to Los Angeles.
