President Donald Trump is set to travel to Kansas to campaign with Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kans., as he faces reelection in November.

The Republican National Committee confirmed plans for the presidential event on Tuesday, according to The Hill. While Kansas has typically been viewed as a reliably Republican state, polling has shown an unexpectedly close race between Marshall and Democratic nominee Adam Hamilton.

The RealClearPolitics polling average currently shows the race as a tie. A loss in Kansas would make it nearly impossible for Republicans to hold on to the upper chamber, and potentially signal a much larger surge for the Democrats across the nation.

Trump is expected to spend the next few weeks on the campaign trail, hoping to bolster the prospects of Senate candidates in tough races. Vice President JD Vance appeared in Texas on Tuesday to campaign for state Attorney General Ken Paxton.
