Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday hosted deputies from the Martin County Sheriff's Office who arrested his alleged would-be assassin at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

Footage of the event showed Trump shaking hands with a number of deputies inside the estate. Those deputies were responsible for arresting Ryan Wesley Routh, the man suspected of attempting to kill Trump.

Secret Service engaged with an armed suspect after one agent spotted the barrel of an AK-47 protruding from the bushes where he was hiding. Trump was golfing 400-500 yards away at the time and was not harmed during the incident.

The suspect fled the scene, left his rifle behind, and was subsequently detained by the Martin County deputies.
