President Donald Trump this week insisted that vandals had struck the Reflecting Pool on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., after a separate act of vandalism focused on the nearby World War II Memorial.

In a Truth Social post, Trump showed an image of the Reflecting Pool, which connects the WWII Memorial and Lincoln Memorial, and insisted that claims the Reflecting Pool had not been vandalized were baseless.

"Look what VANDALS did to the grass connecting the vandalized World War II Monument and the vandalized Reflecting Pool, which will be opened again, and better than ever, shortly. Anybody who thinks the Reflecting Pool wasn’t vandalized should go back to Law School!" he posted.

Last week, vandals targeted the World War II Memorial with spray-painted political messages and also filled the fountains with bubble soap. D.C. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced charges on Friday against suspect Melissa L. Farris.

Trump's comments follow his own public frustration with Pirro for dropping the case against alleged Reflecting Pool vandals.
