With only former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley still contesting his bid for the GOP nomination, former President Donald Trump appears poised to win the party nod, with a recent survey showing him ahead by substantial margins in every Super Tuesday contest.

A recent Morning Consult survey shows Trump leading Haley in every contest, including her home state of South Carolina, where he leads her by 37 points. South Carolina will hold its primary in February, before Super Tuesday.

Super Tuesday is a critical date in the primary process. Scheduled for March 5th, an abundance of states holds their primary elections on that day, and it can typically serve as a chokepoint to filter out stragglers in a crowded contest.

Among the Super Tuesday states awarding the most delegates, Trump's support was weakest in Massachusetts, though he still earned 69% to Haley's 28%. His second-lowest was North Carolina, with 77% support to Haley's 23%.

Trump has already won the Iowa Caucus, the New Hampshire primary, the Nevada Caucus, and the Virgin Islands primary. Earlier in the week, Haley lost to "none of these candidates" in the Nevada primary, which did not feature Trump on the ballot.
