Trump makes appeal to voters on economy: 'We are fixing it'

President Donald Trump on Thursday appealed to voters frustrated with the state of the economy, saying that he was working to repair damage from the prior administration.
"Prices are way down from what Biden and the Dumocrats left us. It’s why I won the Election, and now prices are coming down, RAPIDLY. It’s the Dumocrats’ fault, not the fault of the Republicans — But we are fixing it!" he posted on Truth Social.
Trump is currently underwater with voters on the economy, with 33.7% of voters approving of his handling of the issue in the RealClearPolitics polling average. A further 62.9% disapprove of his performance.
The appeal comes ahead of the November midterms, in which the incumbent party typically loses ground. Democrats are currently favored to take both chambers of Congress.
