Trump orders review of all government funding to NGOs
The move comes as the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) scrutinizes USAID and its funding of left-wing social projects and other NGOs.
President Donald Trump on Friday directed the executive branch departments and agencies to review all funding to non-government organizations (NGOs).
"The United States Government has provided significant taxpayer dollars to Nongovernmental Organizations (NGOs), many of which are engaged in actions that actively undermine the security, prosperity, and safety of the American people," he said. "It is the policy of my Administration to stop funding NGOs that undermine the national interest."
NGOs often receive government funding and are largely regarded as a vehicle for left-wing social causes. The move comes as the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) scrutinizes USAID and its funding of left-wing social projects and other NGOs.
