Trump senior adviser says economic picks for upcoming administration will be unveiled next week
Lewandowski said that either Square Group founder Scott Bessent or Cantor Fitzgerald Chair and CEO Howard Lutnick have the best shot at being named Treasury Secretary.
A senior adviser to President-elect Donald Trump, Corey Lewandowski, said that his picks for economic policy will be revealed next week.
“But next week is when the President’s team is scheduled to roll out the economic team that includes the National Economic Advisor, the Council on Economic Advisers, and others," Lewandowski said, according to The Hill. "This week was Homeland Security week, and you’ve seen that."
Trump has already announced a number of people who he has tapped for positions in his upcoming administration, such as former Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., for Attorney General, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Secretary of Health and Human Services and Pete Hegseth for secretary of Defense.
Lewandowski said that either Square Group founder Scott Bessent or Cantor Fitzgerald Chair and CEO Howard Lutnick have the best shot at being named Treasury Secretary.
“Well, someone who understands how to make sure our country and our economy is moving again, making sure that we don’t have high interest rates, making sure that we are benefiting and valuing the manufacturing here in this country, as opposed to overseas,” he said.
“So, you know, what you see in the two candidates are both have extensive experience on Wall Street," he continued. "Both are recognized as experts in their respective field."
