President Donald Trump plans to support a plan to end the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutdown by passing a bill to fund everything except Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which would then receive funding through a reconciliation package.
"Conversations are still ongoing, but at this point this seems to be an acceptable solution," a White House official told NewsNation.
The reconciliation package would include ICE funding, but also include parts of the SAVE America Act, a voter ID bill that has languished in the upper chamber due to the filibuster.
