Trump urges ABC to fire Jimmy Kimmel: 'Better be soon!'
Kimmel, this month, quipped that first lady Melania Trump had a "glow like an expectant widow," appearing to reference the president's death.
President Donald Trump on Thursday urged ABC News to fire Jimmy Kimmel, after he made a joke about Trump's eventual death.
"When is ABC Fake News Network firing seriously unfunny Jimmy Kimmel, who incompetently presides over one of the Lowest Rated shows on Television? People are angry. It better be soon!!!" he posted on Truth Social.
Kimmel, this month, quipped that first lady Melania Trump had a "glow like an expectant widow," appearing to reference the president's death. Kimmel defended the joke, saying it was a reference to Trump's age and the gap between the couple.
“It was a very light roast joke about the fact that he's almost 80 and she's younger than I am,” he said, according to Yahoo News.
The first lady, however, has also called for his firing.
"It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community," she asked.
