President Donald Trump on Monday vowed that his planned triumphal arch in Washington, D.C., would overshadow similar monuments across the world.

"India’s beautiful Triumphal Arch," he posted, along with an image of an arch in India. "Ours will be the greatest of them all!"

Trump previously announced plans to build a triumphal arch at the entrance to Washington, D.C. The planned monument has taken on the nickname of the "Arc de Trump" in homage to the French Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

“It’s going to be really beautiful. I think it’s going to be fantastic. There’s a rendering of what it will look like. You have three sizes," Trump said in October. “Whichever one would look good. I happen to think the large one."

In Trump's first term, he signed an executive order mandating that new federal buildings adopt traditional architecture styles in a bid to reshape the city.
