Vance blames unpublished Iran deal on 'delicate diplomatic things'
He previously stated that the U.S. would release the document in the near future.
Vice President JD Vance this week said that "delicate diplomatic things" were the reason that the Trump administration had not released the text of its agreement with Iran.
He previously stated that the U.S. would release the document in the near future, while President Donald Trump floated reading the whole document aloud on camera to ensure accurate reporting. The document is not public as of press time.
“The reason why we haven’t released it yet is there are some delicate diplomatic things going on,” Vance said, during an appearance on "The Megyn Kelly Show." "I don’t, frankly, fully understand it, but there are sensitivities that exist in the Arab and Muslim world that we’re trying to be responsive to."
Numerous Gulf States were drawn into the conflict due to their hosting of U.S. bases. The United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, and Saudi Arabia all saw Iranian strikes on targets in their territories.
Vance previously said that Iran and the U.S. had signed the document digitally on Sunday. A formal signing ceremony is set for Friday, though it remains unclear whether the deal will hold.
