Vice President JD Vance on Tuesday is set to head to Bangor, Maine, to promote the Trump administration's efforts to crack down on fraud.

Trump named Vance as his fraud czar earlier this year. Since assuming control of a federal anti-fraud task force, Vance has spearheaded a number of crackdowns across the country.

His Tuesday trip will see him deliver a speech promoting his record, The Hill reported. The vice presidential visit comes as the Senate race between Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Democratic candidate Graham Platner ramps up in what is expected to be one of the most contentious battleground races of the cycle.

Vance has held his anti-fraud position for slightly over six weeks. In that time, however, he has zeroed in on fraud schemes in major cities, notably Los Angeles. In mid-April, the anti-fraud panel led a major crackdown on fraudulent hospices.

“Where there is fraud, the task force will find it,” a Vance spokesperson said at the time. “We will not stop until every hard-earned taxpayer dollar goes toward the honest Americans who deserve them.”
