A veterans advocacy group is suing the Trump administration over its ban on the Department of Veterans Affairs providing abortion-related care and counseling.

The suit comes as the administration faces an unrelated challenge to a Health and Human Services regulation allowing the shipment of the abortion drug mifepristone in the mail.

Minority Veterans of America filed the suit in the Federal Circuit, seeking a declaration that the administration's ban is unlawful.

The suit alleges that the implementation of the rule violated the Administrative Procedures Act (APA) and called the rule "arbitrary and capricious."

The suit also included a declaration from an unnamed veteran who is pregnant and concerned about the risks of her pregnancy.
