Former President Donald Trump delivers a special announcement at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

Trump is widely expected to announce a 2024 presidential campaign after he teased such an announcement at an Ohio rally last week prior to the midterm elections.

The announcement follows a disappointing result for Republicans and Trump-endorsed candidates nationwide who had been expected to win both chambers of Congress decisively. Ultimately, however, the Democrats edged out GOP candidates in tight Senate races, retaining control of the chamber, while control of the House remains undecided.
