The former attorney last week asked the judge to dismiss the guilty plea because McAfee struck several charges from the remaining cases, including the charge that Chesebro pleaded guilty to. But McAfee on Friday ruled the request was defective in multiple ways.

All 7 of them waived their right to an arraignment hearing, according to reports.

The defendants entered a plea, and as part of their agreement none will have to server active prison or jail time.

Trump's attorneys argued Smith's appointment violated the Appointments Clause of the United States Constitution because he was appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland, instead of being confirmed by the United States Senate.
