The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services ordered in 2011 that employers would be required to cover controversial contraceptives and abortifacients through their health care plans for employees.
California’s two laws setting racial, ethnic, and sexual identity quotas, and female quotas for corporate boards were found illegal for violating the U.S. Constitution’s Equal Protections clause.

A jury acquitted Houck of all charges in January of last year.

The delay keeps the ban on hold until the current legislature ends in 2024.
