The D.C. indictment specifically addresses a 2021 incident involving the deployment of the Babuk ransomware against the Metropolitan Police Department in the capital.
Willis indicted Scott Hall, along with Trump and 17 others in August of this year.
Pomerantz resigned months after Bragg took office, pointing to his failure to indict Trump.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Hagan Scotten claimed that it is "quite likely" prosecutors will seek a superseding indictment related to their investigations, that it is "possible" Adams will face other charges, and that it is "likely" people within Adams' orbit will be charged in the case.
"He's essentially telling prosecutors that they are wrong to bring an indictment because Hunter is innocent of any criminal behavior," the board said.
Last year Willis indicted former President Donald Trump and 18 co-defendants over their efforts to challenge the 2020 election results in Georgia.
He pleaded not guilty to 12 counts earlier this month as part of superseding indictment over an alleged bribery scheme.
"The message of the US government is clear: the American people, not a foreign power decide the outcome of [the election], not Iran and its malicious cyber activities as laid bare in today's indictment," he added.
