The election board approved the new resolution in a 3-2 vote. The resolution states that if Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr does not conduct an investigation, the board will try to find an outside lawyer to conduct the inquiry.
"Racine deliberately excluded Republicans and violated the law," RNC Chairman Michael Whatley said.
Arguing that no further action is required, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D- N.Y., said “Current law is very clear: What is so complicated about the fact that only citizens, under the United States Constitution and federal law, are permitted to vote in federal elections?”

In a marketing email, Georgia Republican Party Chairman Josh McKoon pushed back on Democrats' assertions, saying the lawmakers' "rhetoric is dangerous."
“By requiring voter identification, we aim to strengthen the integrity of our elections and ensure that every vote counts,” Repair the Vote PAC Chairman David Gibbs said.
Harrington said that election integrity was ultimately the most important issue facing the nation.
