Donald Trump bashes media for coronavirus coverage

<p>Days after saying that a lot of the media “actually has been really fair” in its coverage of the coronavirus crisis, President Donald Trump on Thursday called several news outlets “dishonest.”</p><p>He blasted The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post and The New York Times for reporting “fake” and “corrupt” news.</p><p>“It amazes me when I read the things that I read,” he said at a White House press briefing.</p><p>He pointed to two governors, both Democrats: Andrew Cuomo of New York and Gavin Newsome of California as some leaders he's been working with, and getting praise from, in rolling out crisis measures.</p><p>Trump said The Wall Street Journal and Washington Post were “very dishonest media sources," and added that he “barely” reads the New York Times.</p><p>After being asked by a reporter Monday at a press conference if rumors about a potential national curfew signaled a disinformation campaign, Trump praised the media.</p><p>"That I can’t tell you if they are or not," the president explained. "I think a lot of the media actually has been very fair. I think people are pulling together on this. I really think the media has been very fair."</p>
