New Jersey’s Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy said he had a "productive" meeting with President Trump following a visit to the Oval Office that has already yielded more supplies and support for his state.

"I'm proud to announce that New Jersey is receiving 550,000 new COVID-19 test kits and 750,000 swabs from the federal government. This is a tremendous boost to our overall testing capacity and as I've noted many times already having a robust testing program is a, not just a key thing in the here and now, but a key principle for our being able to get back on the road to recovery," Murphy said during a daily press conference.

Murphy thanked Trump for "an extraordinary spirit of partnership" in helping his state fend off the coronavirus, but emphasized during the meeting that they need significant federal financial aid moving forward in this crisis.

Trump's meeting with Murphy is his third with a governor this week. He also met at the White House with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards.
