President Trump: No national shutdown at this time

<p>President Donald Trump said Monday that he’s not prepared to to order a national travel ban, rather relying on the governor of each state to enforce travel restrictions.</p><p>“It’s pretty unlikely at this time,” said the president during the daily Coronavirus Task Force press briefing in the White House Rose Garden. “We’re letting the governors do in their states pretty much what they want with our supervision.”</p><p>The leaders of Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia issued shelter-in-place orders to residents on Monday, and many other governors have issued statewide “stay-at-home” or “shelter-in-place” orders in an effort to slow the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.</p><p>“Obviously, there are parts of the country that are in far deeper trouble than others,” he said. “Other parts are frankly not in trouble at all and hopefully we’re going to be able to keep it that way by doing what we’re doing.”</p>
