Actor Kirk Cameron: From atheist to prayer organizer

Actor Kirk Cameron said his road to becoming a born-again Christian wasn't so much fire and brimstone as it was trial and error.
He said in his teens he was an atheist and didn't know much about religion. During the height of his career on the hit 80's sitcom show Growing Pains, where he played the teen heartthrob Mike Seaver, he was parked in his sports car one day and felt the urge to pray, although he didn't know what to do.
"You know, I'm Mike Seaver. All I know is how to sneak out of the house when my parents aren't looking," he told David Brody, host of The Pod's Honest Truth.

"And so I decided to pray. I'd never done it before as an atheist, but I knew people close their eyes and bowed their heads. And so I did that. And I just said, God, if you're there, I want to know if you're real. Please show me."
Now, amid the coronavirus pandemic, he's using his faith and fame to try and help others.
The actor announced his prayer initiative called “30 Days Faith Strong” which helps people refocus their thoughts on God while the nation is in quarantine.
