Americans' credit card debt hits a record $1 trillion
American credit card debt has hit a record high. According to data from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, American credit card debt surpassed a trillion dollars in the second quarter, for the first time ever.
The New York Federal Reserve data shows credit card balances have risen for five consecutive quarters, and increased by some of the steepest rates in two decades.
