Austin Fire Dept. rescues 150-lb dog that slipped into riverbank amid TX winter storm conditions

A 150-pound mastiff was pulled to safety by members of the Austin Fire Department after slipping near the Colorado River as a cold front began to impact the Texas capital on Sunday, January 29th. Footage posted to the department’s Facebook page shows the mastiff, named Mason, being pulled to safety by a group of firefighters. These posts became warning signs to local residents of the hazardous travel conditions and frigid temperatures sweeping across Austin and central Texas this morning, which are expected to continue on throughout the day. Southern weather news sources are urging travelers to stay home and off the roads until the storm eases up.
