Biden announces $42.5 billion initiative to expand high-speed internet access across US
President Joe Biden announced the launch of his administration’s $42.5 billion broadband infrastructure plan from the White House Monday. The federal funding, allocated by Congress from the 2021 bipartisan infrastructure law, will be distributed across all 50 states and six U.S. territories over the next two years. Biden compared the initiative to former President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s push to bring electricity to every farm across the country.
