Chuck Flint: The IRS is 30 years behind and $15 billion over budget
Alliance for IRS Accountability CEO Chuck Flint says the Department of Government Efficiency’s audit of the IRS found that the federal agency is 30-years behind and $15 billion over budget. “One of the reasons they can actually be overbudget when they’re 30 years behind is because they’re investing in legacy systems,” he explains. “They run two of the oldest IT systems in the federal government that date back to the 1960s.” Flint discusses how Billy Long, President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the IRS, should modernize the agency if confirmed.
