Colin Farrell and Michael Kelly join WGA picket in New York City

Oscar-winner Colin Farrell and fellow actor Michael Kelly turned out to support protesters striking with the Writers Guild of America (WGA) in New York City’s Times Square on Thursday, May 25. Video posted to Facebook by New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand shows Farrell and Kelly vocalizing their support for the striking writers. “It’s unfair what’s going on,” said Farrell, adding that writers “need to be fairly compensated for the beauty of what they do.” “Every audition I’ve ever done, every commercial, it’s always been off the backs of the creativity of the writers,” Farrell said. “They are the genesis of all that we do.” WGA strikes have been ongoing as of May 2.
