Federal judge temporarily blocks NY gun restrictions in places of worship
A federal judge is temporarily stopping New York from restricting guns in places of worship. Thursday, the judge struck a provision of New York's gun law that makes it a felony for someone with a conceal-carry license to have a firearm at any place of worship or religious observation. The ruling comes after the Supreme Court's decision last term, which changed the framework judges must use to evaluate gun regulations.
